Cruising the streets of Los Angeles you can find driverless robot taxis. WAYMO has released a fleet of “fully autonomous” vehicles around the country. During this testing phase riders are able to book a ride gratis to experience the safety and comfort of this developing technology (I have signed up to get in on the hype and am eagerly waiting for a response). The company is so confident in their capabilities they’ve trademarked “The World’s Most Experienced Driver™”. The car uses an operator to guide the vehicle while a collection of censors use data to help inform the operator of what to do.
In addition to its reliability, the company also boasts on its sustainability. The vehicle allegedly relies 100% on renewable energy.
Are we speeding into the future, or is this something that we need to leave in the dust?
